Trimming and FIle
During this footcare treatment annette will cut all nails, clean and file them. Annette will also treat them if necessary
Hard Skin Treatment
Hard skin/callus is a build up of dry skin on high pressure areas of the foot. Annette will remove the callus and advice given to prevent reoccurrence
Corn
A painful spot of thickened skin, and can occur on different areas of the foot. Annette will remove the corn and advice will be given to prevent reoccurrence.
Dry or Cracked heels
Deep cracks on the heel are very painful and can bleed. During the treatment, the dry skin is removed and emollient applied. In severe cases heel glue is applied to close the crack or fissure.
Verruca or plantar warts
Plantar wart is a lesion with a cauliflower appearance, and small pigments throughout. It can spread very quickly and can be difficult to remove. The virus is usually found in the showers of public baths.
Various treatments are available and Annette will advise which is more appropriate on an individual basis.
Ingrowing toe nails
Ingrowing toe nails are a very painful condition which usually occurs as a result of poor nail cutting or tight fitting shoes. The nail pierces the skin, causing inflammation and needs to be removed. Advice is then given to help the condition from reoccurring
Fungal nail
The nail becomes discoloured and thickened. This condition often occurs in older clients. An appropriate anti-fungal treatment is advised
Athlete's foot
This is a fungal infection which causes peeling skin, redness and itchiness between the toes. Anti-fungal remedy is recommended and advice is given to prevent the condition from reappearing.
Hyperhidrosis
This is a common disorder also known as excessive sweating of the soles of the feet. There are many causes and the foot care specialist will give advice.
Diabetic Foot care
Annette is trained to deal with variuos foot problems that can occur in a diabetic person
